Avoid that 2009 remake though.
Jason was a weed farmer who kidnaps white chicks and holds them hostage in his secret underground lair.
And he had a secret underground lair with a network of tunnels that ran under Crystal Lake because the idiots who wrote the movie felt so strongly that a plausible explanation was needed to show how Jason was always able to get in front of people he was chasing.

Should have done a poll, I'm interested in this as well. I decided to go back to some of the classics, I decided/assumed I should watch parts 1-3 but don't know what else, I watched Freddy v jason a couple years ago...fukkery

I remember sitting in the theater and watching the first 20 minutes of the remake like

the way he gets the mask was so uninspired...it would've been funnier if it was when the asian dude was trying to kill him w/ the hockey stick.

It was interesting how they more or less combined 1 - 3 and elements of 4 into the film.
