Shiba Inu devs had an AMA yesterday and people are pist there was really no update on their burn mechanisms. This got me to thinking what crypto out there has good burn mechanisms that's actually reducing meaningful supply I wonder:jbhmm:

the ether
This entire "burn" shyt is just a psy op and people are fukking stupid to fall for it. They're trying to tell users to burn their own fukking money when it won't do jack shyt to affect the actual supply.

"Since the official burn portal was launched on April 23, 2022 Shiba Inu investors have willingly thrown away more than 29 billion SHIB tokens worth more than $279,000. Now that may seem like a lot, but the current circulating of Shiba Inu is more than 549 trillion according to CoinMarketCap, which means only 0.000052% of that supply has been burned so far. The price, meanwhile, has been cut in half since the burn portal launched -- meaning the price is going in the wrong direction!"

Imagine telling people that we could end inflation if they just went out and started burning some of their U.S. cash. :mjlol:

Or telling gold investors that the price was slipping, and the only thing that could save them was tossing some of their gold into the ocean. :laff:

ya, that post didn't age well. :manny:

the founder and other certain actors really blew the whole thing up though. greedy and stupid.

that said, algorithmic stablecoins aren't the best. and no one should be investing their life savings into 1 asset, especially in crypto. that is basic, basic shyt. i don't know what the hell these people were thinking.
