Hey guys so I am planning on getting my B.A. in English then going on to get a JD/MBA which college do you guys prefer

Princeton
NYU
UF
UCLA
USC

I love all of the campuses equally but if I go to NYU then I can live with my cousins in West Villiage, but my best friend who is an actor invited me to live with him in LA he signed the lease and everything and I'm actually going out there next weekend to check his place out? My sister went to UF and loved it though, I'm confused.

The cheapest one/most scholarships. The most important thing for you to be thinking about now is getting laid at prom. If you live in the now and develop your personal skills, that will outweigh any marginal difference between those schools listed. Relax dude, you're what 17? Worry about the best program when you apply to grad school.

Florida and NJ are wack to me

everyone I know who's gone to usc/ucla have good jobs

:manny:

NYU great school and location, if I go back to school I'll probably go there

Did you get accepted to Columbia?

Do you know where you want to study law?

I didn't get Columbia in the mail yet. And I'd go for Harvard for my JD/MBA

My cousin is almost a partner at Skadden so I've got a foot in!

Gamers Paradise
1)The best one(that you can afford)
2)the highest ranked one
3)An east coast one(especially if you want to work on the east coast)
4)A west coast one(if you want to work out west
5)The best of the rest

So in this order....

Princeton
NYU(if it's the flagship school)
UCLA
USC
UF

Depending on what you want to study, the last 3 are a push... You can't go wrong... UCLA for Medical and USC for Liberal Arts

Europe/Asia/ South America

As you get older the opportunities don't present themselves as often.

Unless you post on the Coli and work in IT that is.

Well, I think you're thinking way too far ahead. I dout you'll need a JD-MBA. Your cousin being a partner at Skadden won't necessarily get you in and I don't even know if you'll want that. I actually turned those crazy ass hours down. I mean I know it's "Skadden" but I want to see the sun and I didn't really want to do securities and all that.

I'll make this easy for you, objectively speaking Princeton is the most highly touted school on that list and they will probably give you the greatest financial aid if you have need. Ivies are slightly favored in law school admissions. But you'll probably get a better job coming out of Princeton then at some of those other schools which will then make it easier to get back into a good laaw program with that work experience. BUT it's also possible to do from most of those other schools.

Princeton's quality of life with obviously be different than going to a big state school or NYU. But I'd go there. If other places give your more aid then I'd go there. If you got into Princeton you're probably getting into Columbia though. You remind me of me thinking was too far ahead 6 years ago.

BTW, I didn't do what I told you to do and turned that the Ivy League for Michigan. I don't regret it at all, but in this economy, you're better off as Princeton undergrad than hoping that you get into the b-school at one of those places which is the concentration with the higher job placement rates. Finally, you don't need NYC now. You have the opportunity to have a unique college experience and a true campus experience. If you do become an attorney, the biggest legal market in NYC. You'll likely be coming back. You won't get to ever go to one of those other places. It's how I reasoned turning down Columbia back then :manny:

Nah, UCLA is on the outskirts of the city and has it's own little village/community right under Beverly hills.

You should of applied to UCB :win:

Don't get a ba in English do something useful. What happens if you don't want to be a lawyer anymore in four years? You're stuck. At princeton you'll have options. I'd go there and just keep your GPA up

As a 23 year old i'm telling you now

listen to the first reply

the cheapest/most scholarship is the best one for the long run. The only schools you should be paying 70k+ for is grad school, and the last thing you want to do is miss grad school because you can't afford it.
