Evidently those vitamix blenders are the truth. But Comsumer Reports says the Ninja line of blenders can do pretty much the same thing at a fraction of the cost.

I got a regular blender that I only use to make protein shakes but I think a few cats in here got a vitamix that could give a more helpful recommendation.

I got a Vitamix, and love it. I found out about the Vitamix when I saw that Montel Williams infomercial (his is called the Healthmaster), and started doing research on it. People was saying that they had bought it because it was cheaper than the Vitamix. But the quality was so :trash: that they were saying they shoulda just used bought a Vitamix or Blendtec instead. I found mine a show at Costco for $399.

If you want a cheaper alternative, I would suggest the Nutribullet. It only costs $99 at Target, and does the same thing as the other high powered blenders like Vitamix or Blendtec. I prefer the Vitamix because when I make my shakes, I end up with like 52 ozs. The Nutribullet doesn't have a large enough container for me. But I bought one for my mother, and she loves it.

Some $25 GE blender from Walmart.

I've had $100+ blenders from KitchenAid and Cuisineart and all 4 of them broke or fukked up. The KitchenAid ones would wear out at the bottom and leak everywhere :what:

This GE one has been through the wringer and still holds strong over a year later :myman:

This.

I've had various blenders...from 25-200. There is no real difference, as long as it can crush ice..that's all that really matters.

If you want a juicer, get a juicer.
