JBL

for the fact he had a long championship reign

I like farooq though...he just didnt fit in the wwe (you could blame it on the bookers)

farooq had a very good career but what he's remembered for the most is his run in the wwe which wasnt up to par with JBL's

just my opinion

I figured this would be what happens with farooq. Most of his early work seems to get overlooked a lot. Him being the first black world champ is bigger accomplishment IMO than JBL reign just cause of the level of difficulty and Cism(:mjpls:) in the wrestling business

as far as WWE goes

farooq was tossed out of his own stable and Rock went on to become a Legend and an Icon, farooq ending up teaming with steve blackman for no reason until he met Bradshaw

Acolytes broke up and JBL went on to have a dominant championship run and, Farooq was just peeping into peoples convos and uttering "damn"

JBL Wins

Yea, soon as the rock stepped into the nation. The writing was on the wall.

farooq was always better but we all know why he got held back :mjpls:

Watching this episode of Raw in august of 97 and Farooq & SCSA have the exact same mannerisms and personality. Only one huge difference :mjpls:

think about it like this

farooq had a feud with ahmed johnson for the IC belt back when it meant more than the wwf championship belt....farooq career wasnt bad but he got held back because of booking

I always felt that Farooq deserved a short run with the WWF title in early 97', especially considering how favorable the Nation was booked early on with him as leader.

Ron Simmons IMO. Dude was a legit believable badass his whole career because. .. Well he is a badass. He's always been a good talker. He was a great tag wrestler in Doom, a great singles wrestler in wcw and a believable champion, booking failed him in the wwe because he could have drawn some serious heat with a title run before the Rock blew up.

JBL got crickets and indifference thru the beginning of his singles run and even his title run. Eddie had to bleed a lot to get folks to give a damn about him. It took a while for people to accept him as a champ.

JBL will have the better legacy because he was Vince's boy and was pushed to the top so he has more titles and achievments. But Simmons could have been a champion when he was the leader of the Nation. Both of them had good careers but one was booked more favorably than the other.
