Exactly. A better question would be would they be if they never signed Nash and used that money for other free agents?

We didn't have any money to spend, we got Nash with the Odom trade exception.

But to answer the question I'd think we be around 20 wins.

Why would ya'll get rid of Odom? Honest question. Here's a guy who would give his left nut to play for the Lakers. 7 foot and dynamic and you guys didn't keep him?

:why:

Wish I knew, he was mad about the nixed CP3 trade and asked to be moved. Mitch shoulda told him to STFU and settle down. If we had moved Pau instead of Odom we would have been in a much better position.

We'd probably be 5-6th...remember even when Bickerstaff was coach, we was running some Triangle-Princeton offense hybrid. We weren't playing too slow or too fast.

Uh no. The team was playing pick up basketball on offense. Bernie let the players run their own offense and tried to focused on defense.

:ohhh:

Any truth to that though? Lamar was on suicide watch after being dealt. I find it hard to believe him being that upset. And thank you man. Odom > Pau with the direction the team and league is going. Outside of salary why did they get rid of Ariza, Brown, Farmar?

Did they have any chance to trade MWP last summer?

When you can get a player like CP3 without giving up assets that would hurt your future, you do it without any questions.

He asked to be traded because his feelings got hurt. The Lakers traded him because after Stern screwed over the Lakers Odom had mentally checked out. The Lakers traded him at the right time when he still had value.

Farmar and the Lakers wanted to go in a different direction. Farmar knew he would never have the opportunity to start as long as Fisher was still here with Phil coaching the team.

Brown was average at best with the Lakers. He would take some really bad shots and for every good play he made on offense, he would give it up on defense.

Artest over Ariza was the correct move at the time because Artest helped the Lakers win championships. Ariza only played well for a few months thanks to the triangle. He got exposed with the Rockets right away.

:ld: But Ariza was coming off a great playoff run where they won a title so..He didn't get exposed with the Rockets. He isn't a franchise player. He's not even a good 2nd option but he was an athletic swing who could defend.

Brown, Farmar and Ariza should have been kept and developed IMO. :manny:

That was the word from LA at the time. I believe it, but to just give him away because he was upset was :mindblown:, we really shoulda have just gave him time to cool down. Instead we traded him the next day.

As far as the other guys, I think the front office just got to much into valuing veterans . So when they asked for a bit of money or bigger role they told them to fukk off. I never liked it. We lost all are athleticism and energy. For about a 2 year span we had one of the best benches, built around young guys who brought energy and hustle. Looking back the Lakers and Celtics were too concerned with each other, and built teams to beat the other. Only for the rest of the NBA to go the other way and build teams around speed and athleticism.
