In 2005, Carelli (as Johnny Geo Basco) began training at Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), a developmental territory for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). In July, during a storyline where he was supposed to act afraid of The Boogeyman, but instead laughed, Carelli was shouted at and slapped by Jim Cornette, OVW's head booker and co-owner. This incident led to Cornette being fired as OVW booker by WWE.

I don't consider Team Hell No to be overly comical. They were a goofy group, yes, but when it was time to wrestle they got it done and were as serious as anyone. Kind of like Kurt Angle.

Santino was a joke both outside the ring and in the ring. It was goofy overload to me personally.
