Old dude was truly an anomaly in sitcom history as a protagonist who actually got shyt done without sitting around and moping. fukk that mild-mannered hero shyt...
I grew up under thee impression that George was a strong black man with dignity
But I see that he was a coward and a c00n.
He's like the black version of the Fonz, and I don't even have no quarrels with the fonz
He just soft now, opposite of what he portrayed. Ditto with George

I don't even feel right shyttin on the man from beyond, so i'll leave it at that.
I will speak on what he did if anyone doesn't already know...

I respect his rise up to the top but to be real, even Mr. Drummond was better than this dude. George Jefferson was a stereotypical nikka with money, more interested flaunting his wealth and getting back at his perceived slight at the white man. But that being said he was an honest dude and was flawed and that made him interesting, he actually changed the sitcom game in a lot of ways and Sherman deserves credit for that.

Fukk all that. IMO he kept it G. Ran his own business, took no shyt and would slam the door in a peckerwood's face in a second.

yes, he did c00n to the bigger white people, but he would always get his in the end. But I thought for the most part they did a great job of having him be thoughtful of where he was in the world. Remember the episode where Dr King was assassinated? Or the many times he talked about his father? Definitely one of the more thoughtful sitcoms ever and certainly underrated in that respect.
