Did Epic finesse the industry?

Console games aren't actually running at an internal resolution of 2160p, and if you want the game to run native 4k at 60fps on a PC you're going to need to drop a few stacks. :francis:
Most people on PC are using 10 and 20 series Nvidia GPUs if they are using an Nvidia card. So are you really even going to be able to play these games?

The noise in the image is crazy. With that said, Robocop is running better on consoles than immortals of Aveum and looking WAY less noisy than lords of the fallen. But looking at games like UE5 Fortnite and Jusant, its an engine that does REALLY well on games that aren't aiming for realism. You can still get amazing looking games like the callisto protocol or FF7 remake using UE4. It almost feels like UE5 is a generation ahead, and the next round of consoles will be able to handle UE5 games running at an internal 4k resolution at 60fps. So then it seems like we'll probably just keep getting games using UE4 unless the labor cost relative to performance is negligible if a studio chooses UE5 instead of UE4.

Whatever Ninja Theory is doing, it's working because Hellblade II looks outstanding--but then again, they've been using Unreal engine in their games since at least Enslaved(which was built on UE3) so maybe it's a skill issue--but we won't know until that game drops.
