We've all been there and im having the same problem right now with this beat. Im trynna get a beat tape going on and this is the first thing I came up with.

Need some real criticism on this. Sample too flat? Drums too simple?

Appreciate any feedback you got.

for real??? This beat is superdope man.
Only thing i didn't like is that the Kick ain't sticking through. Might layer that with a heavier more punchy Kick.
Thanks for the feedback bro glad u fukking with it

I hear that about the kick... I had some trouble with it because the first kick would be drowned out in the bass... Frequency must have been exact same so I pitched the drums up a little bit to compensate.

Might try layer it up tho.. Salute

The beat is decent. The mix isn't too bad but the kick is distorting at certain points with the bass, it just needs some smart EQing.

I hate this feeling as well, I'm a ridiculous perfectionist these days. So many times I just shelve shyt I've put hours into because I'm bored of it.

Arrangement is good.

Like biddaddy said the bass and the kick are clashing. The bassline is too thin. I'd redo the bass, add a distortion effect for overtones, then add a LP filter to cut out the excess overtones. This way you can fix the low end but still keep the bass audible.

Also your snare is too loud and the reverb too long. It sounds good but it's fukking with your other instruments. I'd lower it, add a compressor to give it that quick pop, then lower the reverb.

Much love :salute:

10/10 feedback. I got my next beat on the go so will come back to this one to tweak it and see how it goes.

I'm not trynna fukk around for too long on the next one, just trynna get my ideas out there quick so I dont sit there thinking to shelf it after 3 hours of tweaking. Once I get the chops and drums in its straight to FL for the arrangement and mixdown.

This is crazy dope, and there's a lot of room for an artist to really do something laid back with it. It sounds like something Wiz, Le$ or Mac (RIP) would rap on

i like this joint- it's kinda smooth. i'm not the most polished ear but i think the vocal sample is kinda low compared to the drums and the other instrument sounds lower (i think a piano i heard in there) was getting drowned out some. and just maybe a slight changeup somewhere maybe drop the sample for 4 bars or something then come back to regular scheduled programming. dope joint though.
