Remember in the cell saga the show basically made it clear that there were 3 different versions of super saiyan 1?

Super Saiyan-lite

Super Saiyan (regular)

and then Super Saiyan 1.5 (beefed up)

So when Gohan goes ssj2, as a kid I was still thinking he was ssj1 but just a different version that mixed the strength with the speed, I guess

I was too fukking hype to notice the significant change in his hair

I noticed the electricity but I just assumed it was only a gohan thing
