Im doing some seated shoulder presses last night and i decide to take off 25 pounds and this little hatian guy tells me that i would get the good muscles if i dont lift big. So im like :shaq2: yeah thats true and kept on lifting and again he comes over and start talking shyt bout me taking the weight off:wtf:.

So he gets on and puts some 45s on there and got it up but it was sloppy and his form was :skip: :weirdo: so he puts it down and gets me the :smugfavre: look. So I told him the fact he couldnt get a full extension of his arms and he kept shaking it was really just a waste of time and energy plus he could have gotten hurt. No point in lift heavy if u cant hold the weight properly and is strain your muscles.

So i get back on with the 45s and did 4 reps properly :wtb: and left


Seriously im shocked that i even took the time out to talk with him, normally ignore people like him, but i dropped some jewels i guess.

Yeah, all I have to do is size the dude up and that will determine whether I will take their advice or not.

I agree but sometimes to get over a plateau you have to push yourself and lose some of that perfect form...

I agree but sometimes to get over a plateau you have to push yourself and lose some of that perfect form...
You dont break through plateaus by taking on weight you can't handle... plateaus are always caused by either something out of the gym, or overtraining

I probably used bad termanology.. Maybe Plateaus isn't the word im looking for... I see gains when I push myself with heavier weights... Im not talking an entire set of bad form... Im saying the last 2-3 reps out of 8 may be bad, but by the next week all 8 are solid :manny:
