We do it everyday in imports and each times bonds mature (though sometimes with more borrowed money). Us being in debt and in turn a nation full of consumers is good for China. Stop watching Fox News, the day of reckoning ain't coming.

I'm just scared they gonna want their money. US is like the broke nikka on the corner asking for a dollar

And technically, we are paying them back each time a bond comes due. Us tax revenue is more than enough to service our debt.
That's not true. Interest alone on the loans is stretching out the US debt ceiling on a regular basis. No homo.

There have been countries that have bottomed out. Argentina, Brazil, Greece, etc. Governments can't loan more money so they have to make major cuts in spending. That affects government employees. Then, all those laid off employees cannot buy stuff. That affects private businesses. The rich get richer. The poor get poorer.

the made up "debt ceiling" has nothing to do with our ability to service our debt. its a stupid and arbitrary (arguably unconstitutional) legislative limit. our interest payments on the debt are very small compared to our GDP and our tax revenues. It cost 454,393,280,417.03 to service our debt in 2011, mean while, we took in $2.3 trillion. The service amount actually decreased in 2012, 359,796,008,919.49. The 2013 tax revenue number is not out yet as the IRS has obviously been busy doing uhhhh other things :whew: :smugbiden:

Well, it was just an opportunity for me to use the words "stretch", "out", and "no homo" in the same sentence. :manny:
