These past few years made me wonder when can you leave? Its never a right time or right way.
A. Leave as a free agent thats well within your right even when you signed the first contract.
B. Ask for a trade and tell your team where you would want to go.
C. Tell your team you dont want to re-sign and have change of heart now and again because hey these guys are human right?

D.Stay with the team and just hope and pray they someday get you who need to win on your team and rot and lose your good years and try to play hero ball until you get some help..:manny:

when you're a free agent, you can do whatever you want. That's what free agency is.

I'm usually always against demanding where you can go unless you wrote it into your contract like they do in baseball. If you want out, that's fine, but if you wanna pick and choose where you wanna go, wait til free agency.

logically you would think that when a player is a free agent they can sign wherever they want, but apparently if you do you're a traitor

Normally I would say for the athletes below.....

Fitzgerald= right now
Adrian Peterson = right now

....but they just signed major contracts/extensions knowing the team sucked so my sympathy for them is limited.

Whenever the hell you want.

I agree, just don't be passive aggressive about it (Which, most of these guys seem incapable of doing). If you want out, say you want out, and that should be that.

I hate the fact that athletes, who a lot of the time come from poor, underprivileged families, can't just say that financial incentive means a lot to them. I wish one of these dudes would come out and say "The difference between 4 million and 8 million is another generation of wealth for my family" and let these fukking journalist eat it.
