Bible summer camp.
We had this game where there was this huge ball in the middle of a soccer field. The ball was about 5 feet in diameter so it was big. The object of the game was to get your team to push the ball past the opponent's goal line. Both teams start at their goal line. When the ref blows the whistle, you start. Pretty simple.
Make-shift teams are formed. When our team gets called, we huddle and come up with a plan. These guys who knew each other from their church and also played football thought that they would be fast and get to the ball first. One guy would push on the left side and the other guy would push from the right side. Everyone else would help out.
So, we get on our goal line. Me, I'm thinking "I'm fast. I'm going to get to the ball first and show them."
Ref blows the whistle and we start running to the ball. I, being the fast runner I was, did get to the ball first.
I start pushing the ball! Just me!!! Then, the other team reaches the ball, but they have like four people push back in desperation. I literally get thrown back from the pressure and fall on my back.
It didn't really occur to me how important it was to have multiple people pushing the ball forward instead of just one person.
