Some people got a short commute, but want a new car. Lease it, limit your usage, then try to get a decent deal buying it 2 years later :ehh:

Other than that, I dont' get it either :yeshrug:

If you own your own business and can write off your car notes as business expenses.

Most people I know who have leased cars are leased through a business.

When you want a new car every two years, want more then one car, and have the money to pay if things go wrong. You should have a main car that is paid for because if things go wrong with your money, and you have to give up the cars, you will still have some transportation.

It's dumb. I use to work in a dealership business office. I can't tell you how many times people had to sell their car to pay off the lease. Does that make sense? You have to sale a car you don't even own to pay a lease you can't afford. If you can't afford to buy it don't lease it.

What about buy here pay here's? I realllly don't wanna get sucked into a car note at all...and my car has been unreliable lately, but I was thinking about a $5-7,000 buy here pay here car deal that includes a "free" two yr warranty/oil changes etc

There is nothing wrong with leasing if you can afford it

some people want to change vehicles every 2 years
some people are not sure what vehicle they would want to commit to and purchase

to say that it is stupid, is in itself stupid when you dont the details of the individual that is leasing it

this is just like people who say it is stupid to buy a condo over a house

You can write off the lease payments on taxes, and leased property cannot be seized.

Get a CarFax or an AutoCheck, which is more extensive. We had to run an AutoCheck on every car we bought in just to give you an idea of what you are getting into with a cash car.
