As a teenager I had no idea you could play retro games on your PC:whoo:

In fact I didn’t play Sega games for a LONG time so the nostalgia hit me hard:whoo:

When I was about 18 a friend of mine gave me like 30 cd-rs (:mjlol:) with all the Mame roms in existence.

Played those games for years, sometimes more than my console games.

Emulators was the rope into my PC gaming. I owe all the knowledge to catching wind about emulation. 2003-2004 ish.

Freshman year in highschool, saw someone play the legit Super Mario Bros 1 and not that struggle fake Super Mario PC game (Y'all know the one).

Freshman year high school. I remember senior year I brought the emulator to my C++ class on a flash drive. Needless to say the entire class stopped doing work for the remainder of the semester. Everybody was either playing Mario Bros or Contra or something. Dudes would just be in class gaming.

Probably around 99. Was 11 :flabbynsick:

Would take 10 minutes to download an NES game. Anyway, I started with DOS and NES emulation on Windows 98. Everything from your normal Super Mario Bros to Police Quest and Leisure Suit Larry.

I even recall downloading from non-secure sites, messing my moms PC up and having to do a full system reboot.

:ohlawd: The anticipation of waiting 4 hours for 4.5MB worth of a WWF Wrestlefest rom to be downloaded just to boot up your Raine emulator that couldn’t run it :beli:

Emulation as a young Breh is partially why I’m stuck in the 1980s in many ways today. Should’ve seen my wife when I was spending weeks building an arcade cabinet to run games.

“You don’t understand, pong is my childhood.”:manny:
