When Did The MCU "Get Good"?

if you watch the early MCU films...a lot of em were pretty mediocre. the original Iron Man was kind of an anomaly. Thor 1, Hulk, Captain America 1, Iron Man 2 & 3 and Age of Ultron were pretty ass honestly.

if you think about it, the MCU films weren't really that critically-acclaimed as films (and not just a fun team-up flick like Avengers was) until Winter Soldier came out. and then they were on a roll after that. Guardians, Civil War, Ragnarok, Black Panther, and the magnum opus Infinity War.

Started good with Iron Man. Tapered off until Avengers. Then GOTG and Winter Soldier were better than Avengers 2.

Ever since Civil War they hit a level though .

I would say Avengers. When that dropped and was well received it solidified the MCU as a thing. Prior to that movie people could still say it might not work.

Winter Soldier is when they started hitting their stride writing and plot wise, which is sad because the Iron Man trilogy was over by then. Since then it’s been nothing but hits, I don’t even like really Dr. Strange or Benedict but that movie even has fans.

Went back and watched them all.

I think 1st Avenger, Ultron and IR3 all get a bad rap, especially Ultron.

This is such a stupid and leading question, but I'll bite. In terms of media I'd say in phase 2 when they had netflix shows, tv shows, and the entire next 4-5 years planned and already knew could earn billions on standalones and dropped what many consider to be one of the goat comic book movies CA:TWS. So somewhere from cap 2-cap 3. 2014-16
Not to mention all the films you called ass is very subjective. Iron Man 3 is mixed, hulk is hated for no reason, and people needed a couple films to reasonably devalue the mcu. Id say all of those films are tdkr, aquaman, wonder woman levels atleast.
