If its the latter, I'll say the ASR X. The urban expansion card has some CRAZY drums

I've never had the privilege of owning a drum machine, per se. My first piece of equipment a SP-202, then I graduated to the Korg Triton Pro - I guess you can consider that somewhat a beefed up drum machine.

My thing is, as a dude who went to audio engineering school, I try my best to beef up any drums I use. It's almost like a challenge. Like, "I can make any drums knock." I'm not always successful though. lol

check out a plugin called camelphat. its old but i use it to this day. fattens up drums like a mf
