No to any Muslim brehs but what is your favorite non-Muslim West African civilization. Mine is the Benin Empire (some of my ancestors since I am 25% Edo; the rest Ogoni) and the Kingdom of Dahomey.

I'm going with Benin since I'm Bini/edo
Also you don't really see much people with Benin ancestry as much as other tribes/ethnic groups from Nigeria, which I take as a good thing.

For me, the best medieval kingdom has to be nri kingdom.

Their over 1000 years of unbroken history
Their philosophy and progressive ideologies especially about the peace and sanctitiy of human life

Their culture and that of their descendants that influenced an entire subregion igbos and non-igbos alike

Their intricate artifacts left behind

I wish more research and attention was done excavating their land
