I caught many whoopings. 95% from my mother. But the worst one was from my father. Me and my two siblings had one small bedroom. Was around bed time, getting ready to lay down. My sister yelled out something, had nothing to do with me. To this day i don't know what my father was on, what went down that day in his life. He ran into the room and he Hanma Yujiro'd me. He literally swung me by my foot like in an anime. My foot smashed into the ceiling, then he threw me on the floor and starting doing the Billy Batts on me. Even in the face.

My dad was takin me to school one day and went in the house while I was in the car with it running. I put it in reverse and the car backed into the neighbors. Well I didn't go to school that day. My dad took a rod out the blinds that you use to open and close them and tore me up. The other worse beating I got was with an extension cord but I can't remember for what.
Was playing at the park went off on my own mom thought I was kidnapped or lost.

Never really got physically disciplined, dad made me do forced standing up against a wall, then I had to do squats/suicides around the house. If I feel, he made me do push ups until he said stop and I had to go allllll the way to the ground.
The one time he put hands on me, he was shocked cause his bytch ass didn't expect me to try and fight back, he ended up putting me in a headlock and slammed me onto the floor and knocked the wind out of me. I saw stars.

I've let it go now (honestly I was over it before that day, he had said some fly shyt that rekindled the spark) because it felt weird to be maturing & getting stronger while he was just getting.... old. Trying to keep the flame alive felt like nut shyt, I just decided to go on with my life

I mean I feel you, that was my only justification for holding on to it for as long as I did. nikkas thought shyt was sweet because I was a kid which is bully energy to me and I always hated bullies.
However here's the issue
These folks are old. The time for meaningful reflection been passed. While it may be a cornerstone event for you, for them it was just something they did one day. The ultimate ether would be whooping ass over it years later and mfs don't even remember. When it gets to that point even the apologies feel hollow. You're not teaching anyone a lesson except maybe yourself: a lesson in futility.
And yeah for his flaws I did come to understand him better as I became a man. For all his strength he had dealt (poorly) with his own trauma including Vietnam PTSD. Not making excuses for him but my dad does have his merits. He was in my life for better or worse and made sure I didn't grow up weak. Our personalities fundamentally dont mesh well and the violence amplified that
