I was watching Now they see us and I was disgusted. I couldn’t even finish the first episode that shyt had me so heated, I had to cut it off after the scene when Omar had tears in his eyes telling his son to tell them what they want to hear..

Yea it was a fukked up story but I honestly don’t want to see a 6part series about bad whitey treats us. shyt demoralizing to be honest. I know it brings awareness but damn we all know black people been catching Ls I’m America since we stepped out on this raggedy ass land sadly enough. I can make a documentary on some bad shyt that happen to us everyday.

Black people in TV nowadays either gay, wenching, or being victims or a combination of all 3.

To be fair we are getting more movies where black people play regular tv roles:obama:

End rant :birdman:

I mean the central park five story is one that needed to be heard.

But it's notable the sort of black movies that gets a push over others especially awards stuff. Moonlight, Precious etc

Which is why I'm so happy to see someone like Jordan Peele stepping into the fray with movies that put black people in yes, fantastical situations but it's better than another hood movie.

A lot of the poverty porn of black programming is counter productive not saying the buppie vision of black life is anymore helpful. As that has it's own issues.

Lots of black people live a pretty normal day to day with none of that bullshyt permeating their lives
