One of these things is not like the others... and I'm tempted to say two, but at least he's had somewhat of a run in his career.

Jay's legacy is locked... I don't think he's that dude who's gonna fall so low out of relevance that no one cares about his new music, and then continue to put out music anyway. I think he'd bow out before it gets that bad. He'll largely be noted as the greatest or one of the greatest, although if he is still making music, I can't imagine younger people will be much into him.

Kanye's legacy is gonna be there too... probably won't be as popular by then, but he'll def. be regarded as one of the great artists of his era- mostly from constantly doing new things with his music and all the extra things he did outside of music. At this point. he's a hate him or love him type artist- the people who fukk w/ him just do, and the ones who never did never will.

Nas' legacy will be locked as well, but he'll be considered a great of the past by then. I think that if he really forges a comeback and gets back heavy in the game after the response to this album, he can still make a heavy impact, or at least uphold a part of hip-hop that's not in the limelight these days. He'll be to then what KRS and Rakim are today... an elder statesman of sorts who can always perform the classics and make money whether he makes new music or not.

Lupe? :heh: Ain't he quitting rap for like the 6th time? In 10 years, he'll eventually have quit and nobody'll give a shyt.

ASAP Rocky? Let's see him make impact first... until that happens, can't even speak on it. Right now, he's where Jay-Z was when "In My Lifetime" was out. We may have already seen him be the most popular he's ever gonna be... can't call it until more material comes out.

I agree with all that but the ASAP Rocky dude is featured in Lana Del Ray videos, got an audience without having any skill or black support, really.

Riff Raff gets more black love than ASAP, is this the trend ? So luckily Jay and Kanye have a strong legacy ... artist like Lupe may turn into just another name who did his thing.

I dont even like Lupe, but doesnt look good .... maybe de la soul plug-one status.

I think people who really follow Lupe like that will hold him in high regard as a lyricist, but yeah you're about right- Posdnous status. Won't be up there with the all-timers but he'll be respected lyrically by those in the know.

Nas and Jays legacy is already set.
Strongest goat candidates, even if one of them starts larry holming it they will still be like Ali. Ali lost 3 of his his 4 last fights but those shyts were forgotten the year after that.

Asap, too early to call dude hasn't even dropped his album.

Kanye, interesting.. He'll surely be a legend but on what level is interesting.
"Just" a musical legend like Q-tip or a cult figure like Pac or Jay. Since he has a lot more going on than just dope music, I'd say he's leaning at the latter. Lupe is as unclear as Asap, either he'll be like Ras Kass spark when he started.... or he'll be a legend.

Jay's legacy is already locked and solidified, plus he has all types of connects, 10 years from now I do see people rewriting history for him though, you'll see people saying things like AG, BP3, and BP2 being albums that changed the game and considered landmarks. He will be in that Mt. Rushmore of Hip-Hop.

Kanye West will be seen as a legend as well and will see people citing him as an influence down the line, I see a lot of new age rappers citing Kanye as an influence

Nas legacy will still be solidified, I kinda see him in the Bob Dylan type of way, someone that stays lowkey but loved by purists

Lupe I have no idea

ASAP Rocky? Give the kid some time
