See, I'd always assumed that inverted meant you do the move traditionally, just with the opponent in the opposite position...while reverse means you perform the move itself in the opposite direction...

But a reverse piledriver and an inverted piledriver are apparently the same thing...:ohhh:

Inverted means that the move in in someway flipped.

Christian's DDT is Inverted for example. Christian performs the move the same way he would if the opponent was setup for a traditional DDT, but because his opponent is flipped when he does it, it's an Inverted DDT.

Modified means that the move's execution is changed (although not necessarily flipped), but effect is the same.

Mickie James' DDT is Modified for example. Instead of hitting the DDT from a standing position, she leaps into the air, and performs it on the downswing of a pendulum-like motion, therefore becoming a Modified DDT.

Reverse means that the entire move is the opposite of the original.

Few moves are actually "reverse".
This guy knows his shyt :myman:

When I was a kid, I thought I'd made that move up. I was like, "I'm gonna be a wrestler but I'm not very big so I need a move I can pull out of nowhere with lots of set-ups like The Diamond Cutter. How about modified Scorpion Death Drop where I fall to my stomach..."

....then Christian debuted in the WWE way later and I saw him do it on Sunday Night Heat. :dwillhuh::sadbron:

Now I think about it every time I see it.

:umad: Yes, Cam. I'm very mad.
