What's the city of Minneapolis like?

Is it a fun vibrant city with alot to do or is it just another river town? The weather seems to suck in the winter there but overall it seems like a decent size with it being in the Twin Cities. Does it have any rough areas etc....?

people get this idea that MN is all farms and white people, granted there are a lot of those both, just way out. Minneapolis and some St. Paul actually are poppin.
