All I want is something to watch Blu Ray dvds on once I start buying Blu Ray dvds, so what's the better buy?
What's the better buy: a PS3 or a Blu Ray Player?

I'd say PS3 simply for the fact that you can set up a Netflix account on it on TOP of playing your blu-rays AND video games (if need be).
Then again, I don't know whether you can have a Netflix account on a blu-ray player or not as I've never used one. I'm just assuming that more function for less money is better.

a Blu-Ray player. Why buy a video game console just to play movies on when a dedicated movie player is cheaper?

just based on price...the blu ray player if you want movies and nothing else

a ps3 has one of the highest quality bluray players so i'd go with the ps3 but im also a gamer too.....if your not a gamer then i guess go with just the standalone player
