All the major wrestling companies do it. Crowd sweetening has been around in wrestling at least since the '90s (and maybe earlier), it helps with the television presentation.

Mostly on taped shows. WWE used to do it when Smackdown was taped, but not to the level they do today on live shows.

They've been doing it. Like I said, crowd sweetening has been around for decades, even on live shows, and all the companies do it.
Other sports do it, too. Remember the quarantine PBC fights in empty arenas that sounded like they were in front of big crowds? Remember the NBA bubble games? Look and listen to this USFL game:
Crowd sweetening is a part of televised sports presentation.

Reminds me of a soccer game I watched where I heard Didgeridoos, crowd noises, and firecrackers but not a fukking soul was in the bleachers :dwillhuh:

Where did I say other sports haven't done it? Obviously in bubble/empty stadium games they are doing that. NFL did too. I'm not denying that. WWE brought it back heavy in the Thunderdome and has kept it going since they went back to live crowds because they want to be able to control the reactions like they did there, and because their audience is dead most weeks compared to what it was in the video in OP.

And like I said, ALL wrestling companies sweeten the crowd noise, even during live broadcasts, and have been doing so for decades.
Look at this match from Dynamite. Watch the crowd, and then listen to the crowd:
They clearly weren't hyped for that match, but they sounded like they were.
Crowd sweetening isn't just a WWE thing. It happens on RAW, it happens on Impact, and we'll see it tonight on Dynamite. All the televised companies do it.

Bra I don't get why you so desperate to try and "whatabout" with other companies to take the discussion off WWE blatantly doing this. I never said WWE is the only live television product in the entire world that does this. What I said was their crowds used to be lit like in the OP and now they barely make noise most of the time except when it's piped.

Maybe AEW does. Not to the extent of WWE, they don't need to. WWE TV crowds on average are not even a fraction as lively as AEW. But I don't see anything conclusive in that weird ass clip of little 5 second spots cut in and out. It's beyond obvious when WWE does it, back in the taped Smackdown days it used to make a vacuum sound and now it's less obvious but anyone who has watched any regular amount of live wrestling or sports can still clearly point out the fake crowd sound, ppl constantly point it out on Twitter and in live threads.

I never said that WWE doesn't sweeten the crowd noise. I said they'd been doing it since at least the '90s. What I said was that all companies do it, and I explained why.
This convo is stupid & would've been over a long time ago, but every time I said that every company sweetens the crowd, you replied with some "yeah, but WWE..."
Anyway, it's over with. The thread is derailed, and I'm done arguing. You got it, ace. WWE is the only company that sweetens the crowd noise. Better now?

:dahell: My G I've literally said twice in this thread, including in the post YOU QUOTED IN THAT REPLY that I realize WWE isn't the only entity on TV who pipes in crowd noise.

If the thread got derailed its because you stuck on this weird ass obsession of trying to take the discussion off of WWE and create some argument that I never actually said. I'm trying to keep it on topic with WWE because this is a thread about WWE, in a wrestling forum, and my initial post you quoted was about WWE crowds not being as lit as they used to and WWE obviously piping noise. Nobody tryna talkbout USFL piping in crowd noise for an empty stadium. What relevance does that have to this discussion about WWE audiences?
