Amazon is Warning PlayStation Vue Subscribers That The End is Near

We are now just less than a week away from PlayStation Vue shutting down and Amazon is not leaving anything to chance. Earlier today Amazon started to contact Fire TV owners who use PlayStation Vue to inform them that they need to switch soon.

Here is the email Amazon sent out today:

PlayStation Vue will be ending its service on January 30, 2020. You will no longer be automatically billed on a recurring monthly basis. In the meantime, you will have access to live and on demand programming until the service end date.

As an alternative, you can continue watching live programming and more with a paid subscription from Hulu, Sling TV, YouTube TV, or Philo. Download app on your Fire TV or Tablet.

If you’ve been a PlayStation Vue subscriber and have yet to switch to a new service, you have less than a week left. The good news is there are many great options out there.

Hulu

Like PlayStation Vue, Hulu with Live TV offers the sports, news, and entertainment content many cord cutters want. If you’re looking for ACC Network, Big Ten Network, ESPN, Discovery channels, MSNBC, Fox News, and more, give Hulu a try. Hulu costs $54.99 a month after a free trial, below the price point of PlayStation Vue’s least expensive plan.

YouTube TV

If you’re looking for a service that allows for multiple simultaneous streams, an excellent channel selection, and a similar channel lineup as PlayStation Vue, try YouTube TV, which allows you to create up to six profiles per account and stream up to three simultaneous streams. At $49.99 a month, the price point is the same as the PlayStation Access plan.

Sling TV

If you’re using PlayStation Vue to stay up to date with your favorite sports teams, you might want to try Sling TV, which has options for adding more sports channels with NBA League Pass and a Sports add on. Use Sling to watch NFL Network, NHL Network, NBA TV, and more. Sign up for Sling TV starting at $30 a month. Add on a sports package for an extra $5 or $10 a month.

FuboTV

Another sports-focused streaming service, FuboTV offers over 100 live channels, including local sports and news. Want to make sure you don’t miss a game? FuboTV includes 30 hours of Cloud DVR storage. With a price of $54.99 a month, FuboTV costs the same as the Core package from PlayStation Vue.

Philo

If sports aren’t your priority and you’re looking to save some money on your monthly subscription, try Philo. This streaming service has 59 live channels, including HGTV, Discovery, Nickelodeon, and Hallmark. You can try Philo without entering any credit card information. All you need is a mobile number to try the service for 48 hours. Philo costs $20 a month.

Vidgo

Vidgo is the newest live TV streaming service, and packages start at $39.99 a month. Vidgo offers access to many popular networks like ESPN and the NFL Network but on-demand and DVR features are listed as coming soon.

There you go… several great options to replace PlayStation Vue when it shuts down later this month. What service do you plan to switch to or what service did you switch to? Leave us a comment and let us know.

It's been done. If you subscribed for a bit then the last month is free. Get youtube TV.

I used Vue since launch, great service but they marketed it so poorly. I did some surveys with them(got like $200 in amazon gift cards for my feedback) but they still messed up. Youtube TV is better, a little cheaper and the lag during live events is alot less than on Vue.

I wish Vue had lasted. I cancelled cable for it.

@Yayo Toure The thing about Vue is that it looked just like a TV guide. And the DVR was great. How's the YouTube TV DVR?

It's not as straight forward as Vue, but works the same way. I do miss the interface of Vue, but YouTube TV isn't that far behind.

What happened? It was trash and overpriced just like the rest of those type of streaming services. I said on here a couple of times before, if you just do the very simple math you're better off getting a cable package with internet from a major provider vs. paying for internet + a $40 streaming service. Any home internet is going to run you $60-70 by itself...My Fios package is cable (one box for the living room and that's all), phone, and Gigabit internet for about $109 after taxes and fees now. That's with me being on autopay and owning my own router. That's the same or cheaper than getting Vue, SlingTV, Dish, etc + home internet. Every two years Fios gives the new customer price so the bill never goes up.

The only way Vue or something like it makes sense is if it's just YOU...no kids, wife, family, etc. because then you can just use your 4G on your phone or hotspot to watch the streaming shyt

PlayStation Vue wasn’t being viewed :mjlol:
I had it. I was a great service. They just messed up with the name since people associated it with gaming.

And that was me...perfect for a single person.

Been using streaming services for over two years, still cheaper than cable. I was with directv now/att tv for over two years, even with the price increase it was still $10 cheaper than cable and I got a bunch more channels I got HBO too. I just switched to fubo because my wife is pregnant and due next week and won't be going back to work until September so I'm looking to save even more. But all said it was cheaper.
