What's going on in the world of rock/alternative?

I mean, I feel the same way about this genre as I do about hip hop, there was so much great stuff in the 90's from RHCP, nirvana, incubus, thru goo goo dolls, evanescence, the killers, the fray, etc. I don't know shyt about what's hot right now. Is there even music like that being made? Is every act on some pop/electro/dance music shyt?

I really feel out of it, this is why I miss the old school MTV of the 90's, easy access to music of all genres.

Ok, between the no response here and someone on Facebook telling me most the alt bands have gone electro or dub step, imma assume this genre is dead?

Its a lot harder to find good rock music than it is good Hip-Hop nowadays.
