They tried to keep the guys enslaved on exclusive contracts as if they were a normal, touring wrestling company and not a TV show with long breaks between seasons. Since this was absurd, guys started asking for releases, or just working elsewhere and daring El Rey to do something about it. They never upped their budget to support the stars they created, so those stars began seeking opportunities elsewhere.
Really, they just fukked it up. They could've adjusted the contracts. They could've written with a clear goal in mind. They just chose not to. It's almost certainly over. The best thing to happen in wrestling in a long time burned bright, burned fast, and burned out.
