Basically, I don't lend a nice car to a friend. They can ride shotgun or something. The whole liability aspect is crazy, and unless that friend can afford to pay for the repairs or replacement, he is not going to sit in the driver's seat.
On the flipside, if a friend got that ride and offered to let me drive it, I wouldn't do it because an accident could happen and I don't have the cash to pay up because a friendship isn't worth ruining over test driving a $60,000+ car. I have my own car and it's just a vehicle to go from A to B. I've had a friend offer to let me ride his motorcycle. It was a nice Honda CBR. I said no. Because if I had to dump it to save my life, I would feel awful.
