What would yall recommend?....Macbook Pro or A Mac Mini?

About to make the jump to mac. completely fukkin done with windows and their issues. plus I know mac's are somewhat of an industry standard anyways. my budget is 1000. the mac mini has just as much power as a macbook, and will easily handle anything I plan to throw at it. and it's much cheaper than a macbook. obviously the upside with a macbook is the portability. although with how small the mac mini is, shouldn't be that hard to move around either. keep goin back and forth on this. I would probably prefer the macbook, but the 1000 budget has me leaning towards the mini. anybody know if there are 15" macbooks out there for under a G?

cop you a macbook pro with 8+ gigs of ram, ssd ...dont have to be the retina one but you want something that will last you at least 3-5 years and retain its value. Mac mini loose value after every refresh

i'm gonna be using the maschine. right now i'm actually tryin to choose between a i5 imac or a tricked out i7 mac mini. there's a refurbished imac on the apple store for 1200. the only reason i'm hesitant is because it's i5. will the i7 really make any difference to me considering i'm probably only gonna be using the maschine and maybe some vst's like omnipshere. probably won't be doing any recording at all.

You might as well get an iMac if your not going laptop.

You going to have to buy a screen with a mini, speakers ect. I have a early 2011 iMac, I can max at 8GB of ram (simple upgrade), but I'm still on 4GB ram, running maschine 2, abelton live, photoshop ect with no issues.

Laptop if you're gonna use it for music..you can have portability like going to people's houses and recording them..if you're using a desktop they can only come to your spot..

All you need is a laptop, interface, mic stand, and mic..throw it in the trunk if ya car and do it moving..
