What was your opinion of arena shooters?

with how fast and stupid COD, I feel like that style of gameplay is only right for arena shooters

I used to be a progamer in quakeworld/quake3 like 20 years ago, frankly I love them but I know 99% of the player base doesn't, which is why I stopped playing seriously... if they ever released an arena shooter that could be as popular as say dota2/LoL id be back on it but i know itll never happen

Gameplay was better, I don’t like the trend of guns with a hundred attachments. You picked up a railgun and showed out. Arena shooters put me on the single flag CTF which is my favorite mode in a shooter.
