Played the PSP more than the Vita.
3DS was the last handheld that I poured significant hours into.
I don't count the Switch since I hardly ever play it to begin with and when I do I play docked.
Ahead of it's time. Sony tried a better blend of portable friendly and console-esque experiences to no good end. Felt like they wanted an actual portable Playstation vibe and not a Sony backed handheld.
You could have a better time nowadays with a better storefront and back catalogs to fill in "simpler" title needs. They tried this but didn't go in as much they should have. This is one of the draws with modding as you can get a plethora of friendly PS1 titles running well.
Def was ahead of it's time. PSP dropped before smart phones took over the world. Vita might be the goat handheld design and to this day is still has a great screen. Just had a horrible ass library.
With all that said devices out now like the Odin 2 and Retroid Pocket fills the niche the psp/3ds left.
