Unlearning* is something most won't do. They can, but refuse. Makes the brain hurt too much to look at things from a new point of view, see?

They say the definition of madness is doing the same thing again whilst expecting different results. In that case what does that say about the vast majority of the human race? Anyway, what was the last thing you unlearned?

*If you need clarification - "to make an effort to forget your usual way of doing something so that you can learn a new and sometimes better way".

As a collective, we’re all u learning heteronormativity as it relates to cultural norms

This current generation is unlike any from the past.
I agree. From family structures, to gender roles, to social norms.

It’s going to fail because it’s a rapid shift & what they’re attempting to usher in is heavily rejected***. Instant gratification + short attention spans demand everything NOW. That works for ordering food — that doesn’t work for the livelihoods of individuals and their beliefs.

EDIT: *** can easily be applied to previous movements (Women’s Rights, Civil Rights, Stigma of Marijuana), but those took decades. Asking the youth to accept so many different new things each month is not ideal.

You see it. It’s also challenging each one of us at our core because we were conditioned to embrace the world a certain way.

As result, stress, anxiety, and other rigid behaviors among humans are through the roof.

Thats an interesting perspective. What do you think the causes, reasons and long term goal/intent of this is?
