Me I gotta go with summerslam 2002 because i was marking through that whole match like what if michaels does break his back :sadcam: great match that had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, *super kick reveresed into a pedigree* i thought that was it but michaels flipped over and got the 123 :salute:

Summerslam 2002. It was an incredible match regardless of the circumstances, but the fact it was HBK's first proper match in more than four years makes it phenomenal.

Those sledgehammer shots Trips gave him at the end had me :ooh: :damn: :merchant: :wow: as a kid

Summerslam 2002, the build up was amazing, the video packages leading up were great, HBK's first match in 4 years, and than you have the match itself. The match itself was great and just superb storytelling from playing up HBK's back to the loco signal he gave when HBK jumped through the table, 4 years out of the ring and HBK puts on the MOTY.

I didn't appreciate that match until much later. IMO its maybe HHH's best outside of backlash 2000 and those are his most villanous moments...great great match, and HBK was CLEARLY putting everything into that match. When he did the kip-up :to: :wow: you KNEW he was BACK.

i'd put that match up there with either of the undertaker matches.

edit: sorry breh I gotta make a spin-off thread :myman:

When he did the kip up it was a :wow: moment. Up until that point he was putting on a great match but the kip up was one of those things you didn't know if he could do just because of his back, and when he did it, it was :krs:

No. 1 no doubt would be the SummerSlam 02 battle. That match had everything, from the build up, to the video package, to the story it told in the ring, how Triple H was being a real evil b*stard targeting Shawn's back, and Shawn showing his trademark resiliency, going back and forth, leading Shawn to pick up the surprise roll up win. Then Triple H's actions afterwards, so heinous, so cruel, that it got JR super pissed off.

IMO, the 2nd best match after that would be the one they had on RAW, Dec. 29, 2003. It was in HBK's hometown of San Antonio, so you knew the crowd atmosphere would be off the charts. Another classic, ending with what many thought was another historic victory for Shawn Michaels. Just listen to that pop starting at 29:45. :whew:

Third I would say would have to be their Hell in a Cell encounter from Bad Blood 2004. This was built up to be their last confrontation, and it delivered on all accounts. A total bloodbath, lasting over 45 minutes, involving all kinds of weapons, brutality, and barbaric nature served up the final chapter to an epic rivalry.

No. 4 on my list would be the Last Man Standing match from Royal Rumble 2004. It was in Philly, known for it's big fight feels and no holds barred type matches, and this was easily the best match on that card. Shawn would once again go through another vicious beating, and once again would keep coming back, not staying down. Another brutal bloody battle, this matchup between these two greats once again had a controversial ending that could not settle the score.

And lastly, I would put their Three Stages of Hell match at the fifth spot. Not because it was bad, but because it was a bit inferior in quality compared to the other matches on the list. Still a fine, damn good match.

the bad blood match was crazy it was basically a TLC match inside a Hell in a cell

This feud deserves its own blu ray

Yea easily the SS 02 match because of the emotions and seeing Heavenbottom return to his GAWDLY form without missing a beat. I forgot all about the Raw matchup from 03 that was also solid. The RR and HIAC match were good but you can tell they were trying to up the ante and it fell short. That 3 stages of Hell match was not good simply because HHH quads were all fukked up and the matches were rushed( I think the cage or ladder match was only 5 mins long)
