What was it that made Andre Ward so great?

Dude is one of the best ever to do it without any of the super dynamic qualities that other greats had.

He didn’t have the speed of a Roy Jones/Mayweather

Wasn’t the most powerful puncher

Didn’t have extraordinary boxing skills

The only real things that jump out to me are his inside fighting and ring iq.

Otherwise he should have just been a solid well rounded fighter. Instead he’s on the short list for best ever

I gotta be real. Andre's punches were beautiful when he let his hands go, but he was a pretty dull fighter to watch half the time. He did so much of that step in and hold stuff all the time too.

This is nonsense. Ward won the super six tournament, which was about as unsafe a route a young boxer could have taken at the time.

I don't want to say for sure Adonis would have won that, but that one punch KO power was amazing a few years back. I really was hoping Ward would have stepped up to face him, just to see how he would deal with Adonis' KO power.
