Own a Haworth x99 and Steelcase Leap V2.
Was in the market for desk chairs since October. Tried all the popular Staples chairs (overhyped trash on Reddit) and a number of popular leather bucket seats off Amazon. They all had the same complaints of deterioration within 1-3 years. Lumbar support was never satisfactory for me either. Eventually got put onto used high end chairs and lucked up on an office liquidation. These chairs will likely last me 10+ years before needing replacements.
If interested, my advice is to find an authorized dealer of high end ergonomic chairs (Herman Miller, Steelcase, Haworth, etc) and try them out in the store. Familiarize yourself with the feel and quality. This way you won't get hustled when you go try out a "used" one. "Used" shouldn't feel completely different from "new." Only the fabric should be broken in. Too many high end chairs with low quality refurbishments on the used market, might as well buy a chair from Staples.
