shyt was kind of in limbo until SummerSlam when The Authority angle kicked off. John Cena had just defeated The Rock at Wrestlemania, CM punk was feeling a certain way after being defeated by The Undertaker, and the Triple H/Brock Lesnar feud, was going into its rubber match. Fandango actually became a 15 minute worldwide sensation like the Harlem Shake.

Oh, and people were hyped that Dolph Ziggler just successfully cashed in his money in the bank contract to win the World Title.
