My mom stayed having these songs on repeat when she had her girlfriends over. Bass thumping while me and my brother were playing Mortal Kombat and Madden:lolbron:

Mom:

Mary J Blige - I'm Goin Down
Fugees - Killing Me Softly
Queen Latifah - Dance For Me
Kirk Franklin - Stomp
Zapp - Heard It Through The Grapevine
2 Live Crew - Hoochie Mama
Basically most of the Friday soundtrack.

Dad

Black Sabbath - Iron Man (I used to be terrified of the opening bass drum intro)

He played a lot of rock music but dot remember a lot of the songs right now

i'm sure everyone's gonna put down some typical stuff, so no need to repeat some of the common songs heard around black american households. i'll put some of the non-typical stuff i would hear from my father's record player...

A little of everything really.

A lot of classic rock, jazz, classical music, a little mambo and salsa. My pops favorite music is probably jazz.

I come from a pretty musical family. My uncle was a professional musician and both my dad and my kid brother play a lot of different instruments. Also my older brother was a DJ for a radio station back in the day.

I used to get down on the turntables, I wasn't bad but I ended up giving it up. Haven't done anything on the turntables for almost 3 years now. I still got em at home but I don't really have space to set them up.

There was a variety of music my parents listened to, but what most stuck out to me was...

Al_Greens_Greatest_Hits_Al_Green_album_-_cover_art.jpg

listening to Al while growing up, made him one of my top 5 favorite artists.
