I keep hearing people doing splits and talking down on a full body.

I only go to the gym twice a week cuz that's all I can do at the moment so I have to get it in and make sure I hit everything those two days. Those two days are Mon & Wed.

Please explain to me what's wrong with a full body workout?

Actually full body can be a really good way to work out, especially when starting out because your body isn't actually ready to do 5+ exercises on one body part until you've been training a while. A beginner could get great results from a routine that was something like bench press, military press, pull ups, bent over rows, dead lifts and squats 3 times a week.

When lifting heavy, full body workouts have you feeling DEAD...and personally, I can't get the best/heaviest reps on multiple compound lifts like I can on split days...

If I had to go twice a week, I would do something like back/chest, then shoulders/legs..sprinkle in arms and cardio when I can.

are you talking compound workouts?

Bruce lee did mostly compound workouts for weight training...but he didn't weight train that often about 3 days a week at most using compound workouts mostly

edit...oh i know what you mean...if you can get an extra day in say monday Wednesday friday and have a 2 day split and interchange each workout then you'll give all your muscles more than enough rest

if you go twice and you do everything in one day...do it on monday and friday that way you get about 3-4 days rest per body part...which is the most ideal

To each it's own.

Personally, I'd recommend full body workouts for anyone's pressed for time, in this daily grind of life, which is basically most people. Following a 4-5 split, will inevitable fail, for most people, simply because life happens. Then people fall behind in their regime.

Meanwhile if an individual does full body workouts at least 2-3x a week, they'll still progress...

The only downfall is that they can be extremely taxing on the body, especially doing a combination of squats and deadlifts. My recommendation is to rest in between sets.(2-5min)

But I'm a walking testament of full body workouts. I've been doing them ever since I heard of SL.

I never achieved so many gains in physique and stats, in such a short period of time.

Back on sohh, I was posting my new gains daily...
most people thought it was :duck:

But it is what it it....

*works out 2-3x a week, has a better physique than most people* :russ:
