Nancy is stumping for the Dems to ensure they get donor/SuperPAC support for the election. She doesnt believe a word she just said.
With that said, Americas support for Israel revolves around 3 main factors:
1. Oil.-Israels position in the middle east makes it a proxy state for the Western Powers to keep an eye on the oil rich arab countries. During the peak of the cold war, the US heavily invested into its relationship with Israel so that they could work together to keep any of the Oil rich countries from "falling" to Communism and/or using Soviet weaponry to pack up Israel.
2. Small Hat Collectives who are rich donors-Self explanatory. The US has more Small hats than any other place besides Israel.
3. Evangelical Babble-Since the 80s, the End Times prophecy of Revelations has become a huge belief of the Christian Right. IIRC, Revelations states that all nations need to get behind Israel, or some shyt like that. Bible thumpers like Mike Pompeo and W. Bush took that to mean we need to unequivocally support Israel no matter what.
