The Shining - my go-to as a teen

Hellraiser - is aesthetically repulsive...but not terrifying.

Never seen the particular film I'm gonna choose above those...but I'm gonna say "The Vanishing". I know the plot and the ending. That shyt is possibly the most terrifying. Anyone got links to that? The 70s version not the 90's one.

A great cosmic horror with an incomprehensible entity that taps into my existential dread and makes me feel like the smallest fish in the ocean by the end of the film.

Making the lead character ultimately not want to understand what’s transpiring because finding out the answer will only lead to even more of a mindfukk. Those are the kind of movies that can make my skin crawl because it’s so real.
