what is the definition of the hood?

If a suburb is predominantly black with nikkas acting a fool does that make it hood.? Or should the hood be more like the death trap projects like Marcie's up north.

Or do.we.need.to.redefine.that term hood altogether. I'm only asking that shyt bc of another thread where nikkas rather live in the hood than the burb? If the hood is a death trap why the fukk would ya want to go back?.

To me a hood isnt some place thats mostly blacc with a lil crime.

Its any low income area, where murders and shooting are rampant. Basically somewhre thats dangerous af, with alot of poverty.

I dont count places like mesquite, desoto, or those places in carolina n shyt as the hood. They're not all that dangerous.

A low income neighborhood. I feel there are a too many good people in hoods around the country to only associate it with something negative. Some of the greatest musicians, thinkers, athletes and movements came from "hoods". That's just my take
