I've been getting more and more into comics over the last couple years. A lot due to what I've read on the coli.

Superman is my favorite superhero going back to when I was a kid. Batman seems to have better storylines however. mainly because his villains are more dark characters.

so what are the coli's opinions on Superman's best storylines?

I can't really think of great storylines due to the fact that I don't read a lot of superman arcs but I can definitely put you on to some great superman graphic novels, which I do read.

Red son
Superman: Birthright
All-Star Superman
Kingdom Come
Superman for all seasons

All-star Superman I looked into a couple years ago because someone on here posted a screen of Superman learning he was dying

Dope book. I also like Superman Earth One but I know I'm in a minority on that one. And while I don't think it's a great arc by any means, the death of superman is worth a read definitely.

Kingdom Come though is incredible.

Yeah I liked it at the time, not so much now but I've got that relationship with a lot of 90s big time arcs. oh and it's not solely a superman story, but batman/superman by Jeff loeb is great

One thing with superman that is bothering me: Superman is a white man... exactly how does the sun increase his power? I mean wouldn't he need sunscreen? :troll:

All-Star Superman is the way to go. That book is just a thing of beauty.

Kingdom Come, Birthright, Secret Identity, Up Up and Away, Man of Steel by Byrne and Red Son are my favorites

I always felt stuff like 'All Star Superman' and 'Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow' were overrated.

Nah man. Just nah. All-Star Superman is brilliant. It's incredibly dense in subtext and layers, features countless classic and defining moments and above all, offers one of the most complete Superman experiences one can get out of a single book.

I didn't say it was bad I just don't think it was the greatest thing ever like fans of the book make it out to be and I'm not into clunky Superman.

The Bizzaro issue was pretty cool though
