Lets be real its either gonna be DeSantis vs Biden or Trump vs-Biden. Yes its 2023 but it is what it is. If Biden wins re election he would be between 82-86 during a 2nd term and lets be real he wont all of a sudden improve to be the greatest president ever.Im not gonna throw the Kamala factor out there but lets say he finishes his terms. Also 2nd term could be worse then this term. DeSantis will be DeSantis and things will be bad .Trump would be worse a President then before. What is the positive for 2024-2028. Unless a 3rd party somehow shocks the world. Where is the enthusiasm of voting in 2024?

in all seriousness, kamala fukking up the dems' strong 2028 bench would be an absolute travesty :snoop: shapiro/whitmer ANNIHILATES any republican ticket

if kamala takes over, the DNC has to primary her in 2028. i don't care how it "looks", she didn't win and earn any nomination. i cannot watch kamala lose to fukking ted cruz :snoop:

In other words we all take an L regardless

Picture is not as bad as it looks for Democrats.

Trump can no longer win a general election against a decent Democratic nominee and DeSantis is doing his damn best to change the public's perception that he is any way moderate, and branding himself to the general electorate an extremist.

There are at least 5 current Democratic governors and a few Senators that are viable nominees. Just because they are giving Biden deference doesn't mean they wouldn't be good candidates in their own right.

it's fukking insane that you guys just write off desantis going from a 1 percent victory, in a state that obama won twice, to being rewarded by the general public with a 20 point landslide :dead: in the third biggest state in america. arguably the shining example of the electoral college

i get it, you think desantis is a huge fakkit. justifiably so. but this country just elected donald trump 6 years ago :why: where does this luxury come from to write off desantis winning a general?

In 2008, Obama also won Indiana, Iowa, North Carolina, and Ohio (which he also won twice). In 2023, would we be impressed with a Republican for winning statewide in those States? That was a different time, Florida is solid red now. Obama was also a once in a generation type candidate, especially in 2008.

DeSantis is smart and a policy wonk. But he's also uncharismatic, has poor interpersonal skills, and has a trend of people who meet him not liking him. He also seems to be pretty bad at politics, and without Trumps intervention, would not have been elected Florida Governor over Putnam.

At the same time Trump is dominating him in the primary, the clown is signing 6 week abortion bans, pushing book bans, and talking about wanting to pardon January 6 rioters, all of which are unpopular with the general electorate and will hurt him with swing voters and independents.

i'll admit that it's premature to talk about desantis in a general :dead: i still have trump beating him 60\40

but biden just put up the worst approval rating since jimmy carter :why: no one wants this guy to be president until 2029. we cant be in denial about this

Elections are about choices, not viewing one candidate in a vacuum.

Solo, Biden is not a compelling choice. But pairing him against the extremism of the GOP, which is an actual perception that Americans currently have of the party, makes him much more likely to be successful.

Why do people hate Kamala? She pretty much stays behind the scenes and very basic. But ppl treat her just as bad if not worse than Clinton.

Why??
