Cole is the Cena of announcers....not a GOAT when you look at all the ones before him, but he's the best the company has currently for his intended role (the 'main' PBP announcer for most of the bigger shows), so they push him to the moon......can't think of any others right now who would fit the bill better
JR is on his way out (if not already out).....JBL is great as a color commentator but I can't see him doing PBP/being the 'main announcer'......Joey Styles of course can do better than Cole (minus his overrated "OH MY GOD!"s), but for some reason that didn't pan out (possibly in part because he legit didn't like how the 'E has its announcers promote the matches and events)

And then you have dudes on here who SWEAR that people like Matthews and Striker can carry Raw and PPVs better than Cole :deadcena:, just because they might focus more on calling the moves during commentary, or some other "nobody cares but the IWC" shyt like that.....that Asian cat from the old WWF Action Zone shows could probably do a better job than them
I'm a Cole Miner for the same reason I stan Cena: simply because I love how much they both piss off the IWC

R=G would label it as "mediocrity becoming acceptable".......well until we see better upcoming talent (who can also fit the WWE's vision of how the role should be played), I have no problem accepting it and neither does the WWE universe today
. You can't keep bringing back old-ass JR to be the main announcer, any more than you can keep bringing back injured Austin and the ever-aging Dwayne to bring in ratings and be in main-event matches
Cole is actually a pretty competent PBP announcer when he's not forced into a heel role, but because he's no JR (who he's pretty much replaced at this point), nikkas act like he's the WOAT. nikkas can't just admit that they'd rather have JR and his "Bah gawd!" orgasms back from the ol' glory "Attitude Era" days, so they gotta trash Cole DA GAWD, acting like he's Adamle status on commentary
As mentioned before, Cole does what he's told.....his comments are usually fed through headsets by Vince. He promotes the product the way the 'E wants it to be promoted rather than how the IWC thinks it should be promoted, so I can see why Vince likes him. Also, Cole has a nice, 'official'-sounding voice (even though he can sound like a fake douche at times), as opposed to JBL/JR's southern drawl or other announcers who have that green, 'young new guy' sound in their voice (Matthews :myspotnash
So I think that's their Cole 'fetish'......oh, and I know this is random but Lawler has to GO......he's worse now than the IWC ever imagined Cole to be, which is a shame because he used to be amazing
