The mouse didn't hover and it doesn't hesitate. It just acted with the righteous fury of a thousand of its kind released onto the sleeping scientists of old and present. The hesitation happened only after it was too late. I'd never deleted anyone on FB before. In my life of slow dances on rainbows and chugging on the teet of life (taste buds being blessed with the nectar of the gods) there was no need to.

But it was love, or the dark shadow cast of infatuation. No, maybe not infatuation. The seed departed and had already swum its course and thats more than sufficient to relieve any dreams or spells of infatuation. But for my particular case it's the allure of the unattainable. If tomorrow she became separated, declared her undying love for me and her desire to enter into that Shakespearean embrace I would run. The shackles would have broke limply from my body as the festive paper chains of December. But as it is, she has still got a BF... and I am none the better off. So in a misguided attempt to offer myself some cathartic release on a complete whimsy I deleted her from my life for good.

And maybe I preferred the door being slightly ajar however remote the possibility may be and is and always will be. But I guess this is for the good. And a great quote by Kierkegaard personifies this- 'Anxiety always involves a reflection upon time, for I cannot be anxious about the present, only about the past or the future; but the past and the future, holding on to each other so tightly that the present vanishes, are reflective phenomena'

Time to grab the balls of the past, forget the great head of yesterday... not worry about that future dome. Have eyes only for the present, for the now for what I can touch feel and shoot into.
