What is black excellence to you: Is it just any successful black person regardless of their value to the community and race

If we define black excellence simply through the lens of success, that would make people like clarence thomas, thomas sowell,Kanye and other c00ns or problematic black figures one

Also is financial success integral prerequisite for achieving black excellence, what about exceptional individuals who aren't rich or wealthy but doing their race proud like academically gifted students, talented artists or those who are valuable to their community i,e community youth leader, charity workers, nurses etc

Does character matter at all

Most people only often associate black excellence with rich and famous people who aren't necessarily positive inspirational figures but rarely unsung heroes

"Excellence" is defined as: the quality of being outstanding or extremely good. So technically Kanye, Thomas Sowell and Clearence Thomas would be "Black excellence" because they do their jobs very well. But yes that title also goes to the unsung heros like the coach who coaches inner city youths into a championship win or a single father who puts his kids thru college.

This topic isn't about the textbook definition of the term but what it means to each individual. Do you personally believe those 3 are black excellence

Yes those 3 are Black excellence because 1) All 3 did things that normal people cant do and 2) Humans are fukked up creatures so with all their flaws those 3 still excelled on a level most Black people never will achieve regardless.

We see the term "Black Excellence" all over social media if a Black real estate agent sells houses or a Black Chef owns a successful resturaaunt but behind the scenes that real estate agent could be a liar and cheat and that chef could be a stingy and selfish individual. We cant see their flaws but with Clearence, Thomas and Kanye we can see their flaws as well as their talents. So yeah the title still applies.

But the title "Black Excellence" can be revoked if you do something extremely negative like Malachi Z York or Brother Polight,

I thought the hashtag was supposed to be for black people making notable achievements outside of sports and entertainment and more specifically, for black people making notable achievements in STEM.

It Was a great idea, but I knew it was over when we started tagging Jay Z and Beyonce with it.

In general it is black people having success in their respective fields of work, be it academia or office setting. I dont consider the anti black self hating people like clarence thomas and sowell an example of black success, they have sold out their own race for personal grift
