I am interested in thoughts from people who live in Georgia or are knowledgeable about the situation. It is really interesting what happened in Georgia given the trends in the opposite direction in many other states (Florida, Ohio, etc.).
I was initially skeptical of drawing any meaning from the Presidential election. I thought maybe Trump was just uniquely repulsive to certain people. But the Dems winning runoffs for the Senate seats made me think twice.
Is it largely better organizing by people like Abrams? Lots of transplants in the Atlanta metro area? Something else?
And is this going to be like North Carolina going Dem in 2008 only to go back to being a state where Dems come kind of close but always lose?
Or will it be more like Virginia, where it keeps moving politically to the point where it is almost a reliable Dem state?
